As the whole Fresnel collector can be elevated several meters above the ground, the shaded space underneath the mirrors can be used in several ways: from a parking lot to an agricultural plot.   

The use of flat mirrors allows for an easy cleaning. This can take place at night in an automated process, guaranteeing optimum efficiency during the day and reducing operating costs even further.

Direct Steam Generation

One of the main features of our solar boiler is Direct Steam Generation (DSG). Instead of using thermo oil as a heat transfer medium, our Fresnel collector uses water that is directly vaporized generating steam. In addition to the ecological advantage that this entails, the costly components of the heat exchanger and the synthetic oil have been avoided.

Ours is the only Fresnel technology on the market that can operate at a temperature of 450°C and a pressure of 100 bar, thereby achieving the greatest efficiency of all linear systems on the market.  

While our competitors have only been able to operate with saturated steam at temperatures of around 280°C, the SPG Fresnel collector operates with superheated steam. SPG is the only company that has been able to develop a solar selective absorber tube coating that can handle the required higher temperatures and minimize the radiation losses.
